Common Grind

Make coffee worth talking about

commongrind.coffee

What if your morning coffee could start a conversation?

Coffee conversations break down without a baseline. Different gear, different methods, different beans—no common reference point. We change that.

The Problem

Coffee is deeply personal yet universally shared. But when everyone brews differently, meaningful comparison becomes impossible. Preferences masquerade as insights. Conversations stay surface-level.

Without a shared reference point, we're all tasting in isolation.

Common Grind gives coffee enthusiasts what they've been missing: a shared experience anchored in a common reference point.

Same beans. Same method. Same moment. Different discoveries.

How It Works

Every month, members receive three exceptional coffees from respected international roasters, each paired with a precise reference recipe. You make the baseline cup. You taste carefully. Then you experiment—adjusting one variable at a time—and share what you discover.

This isn't about finding "the best" cup. It's about creating a common language for coffee exploration.

Your Monthly Journey

Each month follows a rhythm designed for exploration, experimentation, and genuine connection.

01

Shipment Arrives

Your box contains:

  • Three curated coffees (50g each)
  • Detailed recipe cards per coffee
  • Grind range, ratio, temperature
  • Pour structure & timing
  • What to pay attention to
02

Make the Reference

Week one: brew all three coffees following the recipes exactly. This creates your baseline—the shared experience that anchors all comparison.

Taste carefully. Take notes. Notice the differences between origins, roasts, and processing methods.

03

Experiment

Weeks 2-3: Now the real exploration begins. Adjust one variable at a time:

  • Grind finer or coarser
  • Change water temperature
  • Adjust your ratio
  • Vary pour technique

Document what changes and why.

04

Share & Discuss

Share your findings with the community. Reference the baseline before describing your changes. Compare notes. Debate. Learn.

Week 4: Monthly virtual tasting where members discuss discoveries in real-time.
